Nopsa vs. Visma Severa

Two Finnish project tools for two different audiences. Here’s what each fits — and what it doesn’t.

Severa is a well-known PSA system aimed at professional services firms: architects, engineers, IT consultancies, advertising agencies. It’s mature and comprehensive — and priced accordingly. Nopsa is built for solo operators and small teams who want tasks, hours and invoicing in one place without dozens of configuration choices. If you’re a 30-person consultancy that needs resourcing, multi-currency and KPI dashboards, Severa is probably the right pick. If you’re a 1–10 person team that needs tasks, hours, invoicing, and Fennoa/Procountor integration — Nopsa costs a fraction and does the same core job.

When Severa, when Nopsa

Choose Severa if

  • Your team is 20+ people and you run many projects in parallel.
  • You need resourcing, capacity planning and KPI dashboards.
  • You operate in multiple currencies or with customers across countries.
  • You already use other Visma products and want one vendor.
  • Price isn’t a blocker — you work in a context where €40–70/user/month fits the budget.

Choose Nopsa if

  • You’re a solo operator or run a 1–10 person team.
  • You already use Fennoa or Procountor — you want invoices to go through without manual export.
  • You want to log hours by voice, in the car or at a customer site.
  • Monthly cost has to stay reasonable (under €5/user) and the Lifetime Deal interests you.
  • You don’t need a separate CRM or resourcing module — tasks, hours, and invoicing working smoothly is enough.

Honestly

Severa is a good product. It’s been on the market a long time and has deep roots in Finnish professional services firms. If you’re in a growing consultancy where twenty people are doing billable work for ten customers at the same time, Severa has features Nopsa doesn’t — and doesn’t try to. Nopsa is built for a smaller context, where a lighter tool and a lower price beat a full-blown professional system. Two different products, two different needs.

Can I move from Severa to Nopsa?

Exporting from Severa and importing to Nopsa is workable. Drop us a line at hei@nopsa.io and we’ll help with the practical move.

Is Nopsa cheaper than Severa because it’s missing features?

Partly — Nopsa lacks resourcing, CRM, multi-currency and KPI dashboards that Severa has. But the price gap (€2.90 vs. €25–69) is bigger than features alone explain: we don’t carry Severa-scale customer operations, and our audience is smaller. A small team gets Nopsa’s core value at a fraction of the cost because we don’t try to sell it to a big team.

Will Nopsa still work if we grow to a 20-person team?

We keep adding features, but if you grow significantly past 10 people and need resourcing or CRM, Severa or a similar PSA product is likely a better fit. Your Lifetime Deal stays valid in that case too — you can keep using Nopsa alongside, as long as it supports your work.

Can I try both?

Yes. Severa offers a 30-day trial, Nopsa 14 days. One tip: try them in real work, not in a demo setup — actual use cases tell you more than feature lists.

You have nothing to lose.

14-day free trial, or 30-day money-back guarantee on the Lifetime Deal. The product has to work for you, or we refund.
